SQL Server 2008 SP2

  • Can anyone tell me what SQL Server 2008 build number 10.00.4035 is? We have just recieved management approval to begin applying SP2 to our production servers, and one of them is showing this build level. None of the DBAs have applied any hotfixes, however, we do have an application called Shavlik, which applies some hotfixes automatically. If this build is for a hotfix, can we:rolleyes: apply SP2 over the top of it?

  • I have checked several build lists, both here and on the Microsoft support site, and none of them list build 4035.

  • Right, but v 10.00.4035 is post SP2 10.00.4000 so you wont be able to apply SP2. 4035 must be a hotfix release level

  • Ok, but can anyone tell me what hotfix?

  • It appears to be prios to CU1 for SP2. You may be able to determine the KB # from the installed programs list in Windows, by checking the option to show updates.

As said this might be hotfix you can always go ahead and apply SP2. Or can find out from the team is there any specific reason only for the buld they requested?
