SQL Server 2008 R2 with SAN replication

  • Hi Guys,

For our DR site we are configuring SAN based replication. Could any one please let me know whether SQL SERVER 2008 r2 supports this SAN replication i.e., I want a sql server 2008 instance to run on DR SAN without any high availability from database level. If yes How??

  • Forgot to mention . . We do have 2node clustering also. .

  • I would add the DR server as a 3rd node on your cluster (geo cluster) and yes this is very possible.

  • It is possible but a little tricky in that all the nodes must be on the same subnet for SQL 2008 (and R2). My understanding was that SQL 2012 was more flexible in this regard.
