I has been a while since I upgraded a SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2008 R2.
I'm trying to download the SQL Server 2008 R2 Upgrade Advisor but when I goggle all that I get is the 2012 version.
Could someone please direct me to a link?
Thank you.

SQLDBA360 (4/2/2012)
here you go http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=16978
When you download it downloads the following text file:
SQL Server 2008 R2 Feature Pack Instructions.txt
The file contains the following:
SQL Server 2008 R2 Feature Pack Instructions
The links to the SQL Server 2008 R2 Feature Pack components can be found in the
“Instructions” section on the SQL Server 2008 R2 Feature Pack page.
- The “Instructions” section can be found about half way down the SQL
Server 2008 R2 Feature Pack page.
- Once you navigate to the section please be certain to pick the
appropriate component architecture for download.

Hi, unfortunatly you need to download the bits you need individually so scroll down until you find the .msi files for Uupgrade Advisor (its about half way down the page), agree the download button should dowload the full feature pack 🙂

You can run the setup from the SQL 2008 R2 CD. Run the sql 2008 r2 setup, then in the Planning section is the Install Upgrade Advisor Tool.
