  microsoft has realesed new edition of sql server 2008 as sql server 2008 r2

  i have no idea about ,but i want to migrate to sql server 2008

  can any one suggest with which addition i use for best performance?

  or review from users who is migrating from 2005 to 2008 and which one they are using?

  R2 is still in beta and won't come out until next year. i wouldn't upgrade to it until SP1 or SP2.

  SQL 2005 was buggy even after SP2

  i've read for 2008 MS removed a lot of features from the beta to the RTM version and there were a lot of problems

  i wouldn't trust R2

  we upgraded after SQL 2005 SP2 came out and the support lines were swamped and the quality of the support wasn't that good.
