SQL Server 2008 installation on Windows 7

  • Hello everybody,

I have problem with installation SQL Server 2008 Enterpraise on Win7. The window "This program has known compatibility issues" appears after executing the installation wizard. But it is well known problem described eg here - http://sqlblog.com/blogs/aaron_bertrand/archive/2009/08/14/is-sql-server-2008-supported-on-windows-7-windows-server-2008-r2.aspx.

After clicking "Run program" there is an information box that MS .net Framework is required. I click OK and the installation progress bar of .net framework appears. Unfortunately after a couple of seconds, error occures "You must use 'turn windows features on or off' in the Control Panel to install or configure ms .net framework 3.5 sp1". And after that, there is a message box "MS .NET Framewosk 3.5 installation has failed" and that is the end.

I have no idea how to resolve this problem (especially when it is not described in this website above). It is weird because as I know Win 7 has .NET Framwork 3.5 installed...

    Please help.

  • Have you enabled it in the "Features" section of Computer Management
