I picked up an MS Press book on the MCTS Exam 70-432 on Sql Server Administration.
Sample question #1 was like this:
1. Which of the following operating system versions can be used to install Sql Server 2008 Enterprise Edition? Choose all that apply.
A. Some Windows Version
B. Some Windows Version SP2
C. Some Other Windows Version
D. Yet Another Windows Version
Get real! Is this what the certification tests are really like?
Memorization of infrequently used facts that can be looked up at need?
The only correct answer for the above question is:
A. RTFManual and RTFAddendums just before you order everything, because what was true last week might not be true today. And, if possible, test it with an evaluation edition first, because sometimes the FManual and the FAddendums are wrong and the stuff just won't work well together.

Nope. That's what the cert exams were like about 8-10 years ago. Not any more.
