Hi,
I installed sql server 2008 express SP1 .
I can't see management studio in it .
Does it have it mgmt studio and if there , how to find it??

I believe you unchecked the client components while installation. You can re-run the installation & modify / update the existing instance.

I am sure I checked everything...
Do you know the command to see if I can run mgmt studio directly from start - run

I guess sql server 2008 express doesnt have mgmt studio

That's why I provided the link. SSMS is part of Express Edition.

Please try ssms or ssms.exe on command prompt.

i saw the link, when I click express edition and
then to management tools...
It doesn't show SSMS Ticked..
I put it as an attachement.

I am sorry. I just overlooked it. As SSMS doesn’t appear in Express edition, there is no scope for argument on it.
You may try SQL CMD instead.

There are several downloads for express edition. The basic one (first in the drop down box on this page: http://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/pd/SQLEXP08V2/enus/) does not have management studio. It's just the database engine. To get management studio, you need to select the option that says 'with tools' or similar wording)

I will download that what you said.
I have 1 another sql server 2008 express with advanced services...
Does it have mgmt studio...how to know, i don't want to install it fully and then see that mgmt stuido not there.

I think so, but I can never remember exactly what was in each of the download options (there were 3 or 4 at one point)
