Hi guys,
Does anybody knows whether it is possible to have SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Studio 2008 installed on the same machine and having the Business Intelligence Projects (SSIS, SSAS and SSRS) remain working properly?
I need Visual Studio 2008 for .Net development where Visual Studio 2005 does not support.
Thanks in advance.

I have been running that configuration for a year now.
Make sure Management Studio and Visual Studio 2005 are already installed before installing Visual Studio 2008. The installs all work fine if you install them in order.
The only thing I have not gotten to work correctly is the TFS browser. If you are not using TFS, you will be ok. If you are, I was only able to get one version of it installed at a time. If both were installed, the custom check-in rules would not work correctly.

Just keep in mind 2005 cannot open 2008 files
so VS2005 cannot open VS2008 project/solutions (VS2008 CAN open VS2005, and upgrade them)
so keep your 2005 and 2008 projects separate if you can
I have SQL2005, 2008, VS2005, VS2008 on my computer

Thanks a lot for your input! I came to the conclusion that it is safe to install both VS on same pc without causing conflict.
