Hi,
When SP4 was installed on SS2000, it caused some performance issues for queries that involved numeric data types. A fix was released (customers could enable Trace Flag 9059). My question is, were the performance issues that were raised with the installation of SP4 on SS2000, fixed in SS2005?
This link describes the problem: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=899976
We have a customer that turned on TF9059 after upgrading to SP4 because of the performance issues. (Based on our recommendation!) Now, they want to know if they will face the same performance issues if/when they upgrade to 2005.
I realize that TF9059 does not exist in 2005. And I see someone else has asked the same question: http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=776064&SiteID=1. However the performance issue was not answered so I am hoping someone here knows the answer.
If our client upgrades to SS2005, will they encounter the same performance issue the app had in SP4 when the TF9059 was not enabled???
Thanks a lot!

Does anyone know anything about this issue? Do you need any additional information from me?
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks again.

Although I cannot answer your trace flag question, when installing / upgrading to sql2005, keep in mind to apply SP2 + the latest cumulative hotfix. (for the moment we apply up to CU8).
Also concider the drp consequences when choosing the upgrade path !
