SQL Server 2005 SP2 Developer Vista-Win7 upgrade

  • Hello,

I'm currently running SQL Server 2005 SP2 Developer x64 on a Windows Vista Ultimate x64 machine and I'm looking at upgrading the OS to Windows 7 Ultimate.

Has anyone successfully attempted this yet and can offer advice and things I should be aware of?

    Thanks,

    Dom Horton

I have been running mine since August this year if you are running SSRS make sure IIS 7.5 is installed and all the features needed to Asp.net enabled and IIS 7.5 is in IIS6 compatibility mode. I had VS2008 installed with SP1 applied and .NET 3.5 SP1 also applied. You also need to install VS2005 SP1 because Windows 7 complains about compatibility with VS2005 ignore it and apply SQL Server 2005 SP3.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Gift,

    Thanks for the reply,

I am indeed running SSRS and will take your comments into consideration......when I get round to upgrading!
