SQL Server 2005 reporting services

  • I have written numerous ssrs reports, which have Parameters and have never failed to work, but everytime i create a report which has Parameters and then has one of those Parameters defaulted i start to get into problems when they are deployed.

the problem arises not on the first run of the report but after the initial run of the report when any user opts to alter one of the Parameters to something else it seems to do something then show the following "One or more data sources is missing credentials"

now if i click back in IE then the parameter is set as expected and then clicking view report is fine, but again if you then change a parameter the same happens "One or more data sources is missing credentials" gets shown.

Has anyone experienced this before and if so know why it is happening and how to correct it.. its becoming a right pain...

  • On the Datasource Properties, what are the settings for Connect using: ?

The error points to a Datasource Security issue not report parameter.

  • i have looked into this but the report datasource is using a shared datasource which uses a specific username and password to authenticate, this user also has all the required access to anything it needs within the db being referenced.

If i remove the default all goes back to work fine and dandy and i can run the report then select whatever parameters without issue...

  • Oh i also didnt add the fact that in the development environment all is fine when defaulted or not defaulted

  • Sorry, you got me on this one.
