Is SQL Server 2005 for SBS without SSIS (and SSAS)?
If that's the case, are SSIS and SSAS on SBS not supported or available?
iow, does it mean upgrading the OS to Windows Server 2008 and the db server to 2008 R2 32 bit Standard Edition?
I'm guessing it would be ok to detach and attach whatever is spinning on SBS 2005 to the new environemnt?
Quite a rude awakening i must say (in my best Ed Grimley)
thanks very much

You don't necessarily need to change the OS - you can uninstall the existing SQL and install SQL Server Standard (or whatever flavor you like). Also, personally I have found that doing a backup/restore is much easier and complete for a migration than the detach/attach method.

Thanks very much.
I was laboring under the misapprehension that SBS precluded what version of SQL Server could be used. I will follow your advice and use backup and restore to move the data over.
Thanks again
