Hi ALL,
I have got some confusion about SQL server 2005 enterprise edition and SQL server 2005 enterprise MSDN edition. I Just came to know that we can also have MSDN SQL server 2005 enterprise edition. Is this correct? and if yes how can we identify whether we are using MSDN version or other sql version?
Please help me to solve this confusion. Any information or ideas will be appreciated. Thank you very much for your time in advance.

hello
there is no edition called SQL Server 2005 MSDN edition.
Go through the below URL.
http://www.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2005/en/us/editions.aspx
I believe MSDN will come automatically when you install the SQL Server 2005

MSDN refers to the licencing of the software rather than the version. Only users who hold an MSDN licence can use software installed under the MSDN licence. The software is the same as either Standard or Enterprise.

Thanks you very much for your reply and information. Small information can solve many confusions.
One more question regarding to this is how can we identify that we have installed software under MSDN license?

Think you will have to keep track of the licence that each server is using via a manual process.
