SQL Server 2005 installation problem

  • When I install SQL 2005 Beta 2 ver. It was working fine and then after some time it got expired. After that I did uninstall SQL 2005 from "Add/Remove Program" for some reason and wanted to install again , I get all the features disables. I thought may be it is because of the MSSQL folder created in the local drive. I deleted that folder but still no help.  I thought that it might be the Registry setting. I really don't want to go into that area.

I just need to know that even we uninstall SQL 2005 from "Add/Remove Program" , It's still says that SQL components are already install on the machine.

The only way I am solving this problem is to re-install OS (Win 2003 server) and then install SQL 2005 .

    Any help will be appreciated.

  • Did you uninstall the .NET Framework components as well?

  • Try running the Build Uninstall wizard which is in the setup tools folder.  It will tell you if there is anything left behind from your uninstall

  • Thanks Kelley. I did install .net Framework. When you install SQL 2005 , it will install .net framework automatically.

Thanks to Rooman for the reply. Sure I will do that and see how it is going to be work
