SQL SERVER 2005 Installation on Passive Node

    HI

    We had Two Node Active/Passive SQL SERVER 2005 Standard Edition setup on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition

    Our Passive node is got corrupted , So there is only one server which is Active & running SQL Server instance

    Now I again Prepared Passive Node and added it to Windows Cluster but Now My question is " How to install SQL Server on it to make is part of our Active/Passive Cluster

    I tried installing sql server on it from sql server setup but always it asking for new instance name.

    I do want to be install another instance

    So , Please What is the steps to make it part of Active/Passive SQL Server cluster

    on passive node first u hv to unstall sql

    then install sql and after that install add node to make both the server in cluster

    Ok I agree with your first step & Already uninstalled sql server on it

    For the Second Point , If I installed SQL Server services on it , it will not allow with the same instance name as with already active server is running

    Please elaborate your suggession on second point , as i am not getting it
