Hello,
I installed SQL Server 2005 Evaluation edition on one of the testing server, now two three days back when I tried to open management studio on the server I got following error...“Evaluation period has expired” . but I'm able to acces this server through clients. Now when I checked this error on microsoft website, it says that when this error occurs the server wont start, but in my case all the services are running and everybody is able to access the server.
Can anybody help me in this...!

Without having experience with the evaluation edition, my guess would be that the server keeps running until you try to restart.
Anyhow the problem seems obvious to me. Go and get a fully licensed version.

Thanks for your reply...
We are having licenced copy of 2005, but if I uninstall the evaluation edition then how can I have the system databases again, I can have the mdf's and ldf's of all the databases but I can only attach the user databases not syatem databases. Also I searched on microsoft website and their they have given some command line installation and uninstallation techniqies through we can save the current databases and use them in fresh installation but that will also work with the SQL SERVER CD, but I'm having the dump of both the cd's of SQL2005 standard edition.

How should I upgrade it in this case without loosing the current databases?
Thanks,
Rohit
