  hi all,

  we are currently in the process of migrating all our server from one domain to another. to accomplish this the first step will be to migrate all our users from DOMAIN1(original domain) to DOMAIN2 after which we will migrate our sql servers.

  there is a trust between domain1 and domain2.

  for testing i have created a windows login with DOMAIN2\username on the sql server. when i try to connect to the SQL server it fails saying that "cannot connect to XXXXXX. Login failed for user. the user is not associated with a trusted sql server connection. microsoft sql server error: 18452".

  any help would be really great.

  sql server is configured to use mixed mode authentication.
