Hi All
We have one large database more than 100 GB in Size
Now it is configured on 2 Node Active/Passive clustering and no other high availability features implemented (log shpping, database mirrioring , Replication) .
All DB Files are on SAN.
My Project Manager worries that there is single point of failure and there is a chance that if one server down other server is also may not up due to some problem so sholud We implemented 4 node clustering.
I tried to make understand him that clustering does not provide data protection , it only reduce your server downtime
So my questions is that how can we utilize 4 node clustering to secure our database and reduce downtime.
Thanks

Doesn't matter if you have 2 node or 4 node cluster if disk fails. Clustering helps only if you have node failure like windows. If you want to achieve high availability at database level use Mirroring or Log shipping.
EnjoY!
