We have SQL server 2000 runing on processor based licensing mode, planning to install SQL Server 2005 client tool (SSMS) only to connect SQL 2000. Do you we need to buy a separate license for using SQL 2005 client tool.
I'm not sure if one can seperately purchase SSMS, my guess is that you can't. I do however know that depending on your requirements, SSMS Express may be an option to look at? (Though I have never used the express version to query a 2000 DB)...
