SQL Server 2005 and Windows 2003 Active Directory

  • Hello,

we have a Business Intelligence Server with SQL Server 2005.

we upgraded our Network from Novell to Windows 2003 Active Directory.

the BI server is in the domain.

Now, with Excel 2007 we just can't create ad-hoc pivot tables because Excel crashes when (de)selecting the fields.

    Anyone had this issue?

Is it necessary to update Active Directory with the SQL Server instance/ properties? Or any Excel 2007 services?

    Excel 2003 works fine.

I installed and uninstalled Excel 2007 several times, and just can't find the solution.

BTW, Excel 2007 worked OK before the Active Directory network upgrade.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Agostinho.

  • It could be differences in the paths stored within excel to object within AD where AD structure differs from Novell.

Though to be honest I'm just t aking a wild stab. Does this effect new excel spreadsheets or just old ones?
