Hi folks
Please clarify this dought
Sqlserver 2005/2008 s/w need to install only default drive (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL
or
can we install any other drives?
if c:\ is must then what are the min services need to install
if we want to install other than C:\drives(like D:\,E:\ etc.. what are the remaining serves need to install.

the database engine and a lot of the support files must be installed on the %system% drive; after installation, you can move all the mdf/ldf files(alter database with move ) to a different drive, and i think a registry entry change can be made to define which folder path is used as the default for backups;
so for a large portion of the installation, you can't move it to a different drive.
