Hi,
Has anyone got a copy of, or a link to SQL Server 200 SP4 beta? We have an old server that is on SQL Server 2000 SP4 beta and we would like to upgrade to SP4 proper, but we need to create a test case first of all - and I cannot get my hands on SP4 beta!
Thanks in advance
Bren

Brendan,
I don't think this will help you. SPs typically aren't "upgradeable". Usually you can try to uninstall, but often you have to remove SQL Server, reinstall, then reattach your dbs. If someone put the beta SP on a production server, that was really bad.
Looking around for a copy if I can find it.

Thanks Steve
It was put on some time ago, by an external company that were supporting at the time. I have now given up on finding this beta sp, so plan to shutdown and copy the files (detach effectively) for the dbs onto a test env, to carry out some routine sp4 testing - before upgrading prod.
Thanks for reply

Thanks Steve
The link takes me to sp4. We have now sucessfully rebuilt the server, in test, using the method I mentioned in my previous post. SP4 testing has commenced and hopefully we can recify this 'oversight' soon.
Thanks
Bren

Best of luck and sorry, that was what I got from someone at MS. My guess is there's a redirect somewhere that's popping SP4 regular.
A good reason to always keep copies of all service packs installed on servers. Never know when they'll disappear!

Brendan,
My best resource for SQL Server Service Packs is from a page provided by http://www.sqlsecurity.com.
http://www.sqlsecurity.com/FAQs/SQLServerVersionDatabase/tabid/63/Default.aspx
In the SQL Server 2000 column there is a listing for SP 4 beta, but there is no publicly available link.
I have checked my archived Service Packs, and unfortunately I did not find a copy.

Thanks Damon - I will keep a note of that website
