Have reinstalled Windows 2000 on local machine together with SQL S 2000. Have made a registration to SQL Server 2000 running on a remote server. Can log into remote server in usual way via local implementation of SQL S via EM. However, when try to edit a row in a table get the error "Unable to Edit Cell". Can create tables and do other admin. Have reinstalled SQL S on local machine using various Domain U/N and P/W including the one used to install SQL S on the remote server.
Is this a bug with Windows and is there a fix?

do you log in using Windows authentication or sql authentication?

Assumption: You are attempting to edit a table with EM. Does the table have a PK? If NO then this will probably not work.. Can you do this via a query in QA (I prefer to perform data manipulation there)...
Good Hunting!
