hello friends,
i installed Sql Server 2000, on top of that means after that i installed Sql Server 2005, now both were working fine, but later what i did was i uninstalled Sql server 2000 from Add/Remove programs, no problems till then,
but now i'm unable to connect to Sql Server 2005 (Database Engine) it says "unable to connect to remote computer" and let me tell you dear, i'm working on a standalone PC. below is a screenshot, pls help ?

Hello,
I was not able to see the screen shot. Even the exact error message is not given , which would have helped a lot.
Please check from the surface area configuration
1. If the Browser service is running
2. Check the Remote connections and select " Local connections" button
3. Check the Server / Client network utility if TCP/ IP is enabled.
4. Check the DNS setting too.
To ensure the connectivity to the databases from the client check these :
Enabling Protocols
Configuring a Fixed Port
Opening Ports in the Firewall
