I just bought a copy of SQL Server 2000 (with service pack 3a) that I
intended to install and run on XP Pro. My concern is that the requirements
list on the box do not include XP or XP Pro. Will SQL Server 2000 developer
edition run on XP Pro?

It should run with no issues at all.

I'm currently running SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition on XP Pro.
Not all of the features of Analysis Services are available, but that's about it.

I have not toyed around much with Analysis Services yet, but what features are not available?

To be honest, I don't remember. I installed Analysis Services on my laptop and went through the tutorial. Fairly early on, I ran into some things I couldn't do. I found that if I connected to my test server, I had full functionality. So, I uninstalled Analysis Services from my laptop and used my test server from then on.
Perhaps someone else can answer?
