it does not work on 2005 because the code has system tables that do not exist in 2005

There are 2005 forums if you scroll down towards the end of the page listing the forums:

I don't have a 2005 instance to check and I can't remember what was in 2005 or what changed for 2005. First thing to go is the memory....
In your distribution database, check for tables dbo.MSpublications and dbo.MSarticles.
In the published database check for the dbo.MSarticles table.
If 2005 switched to sys.objects, query that looking for the is_published flag.

there does not seem an easy with with it for 2005 or anything with 2005
