SQL Prompt and SQL Refactor are separate products, so SQL Prompt doesn't have a SQL Refactor component. You can download a free trial of SQL Refactor from the Red Gate website (http://www.red-gate.com).

Hello,
When you extract the files from the bundle you will have 3 separate files: one for SQL Refactor, one for SQL Prompt and one for SQL Doc.
Did you receive a serial number for SQL Prompt or for the SQL Prompt Bundle?

If you only received a serial number for SQL Prompt then unfortunately it will only enable the SQL Prompt tool and not SQL Refactor as well.
SQL Refactor is available for a 14-day trial period but if you installed all 3 elements of the SQL Prompt Bundle when you received the free serial number for SQL Prompt then it is likely that the trial has expired.

You will find the program as a menu item in SSMS, along with SQL Prompt if you use it. There is an issue so if the menu item is greyed out read below...
The issue you are experiencing with SQL Refactor and SQL 2005 SP2 where the Refactor menu is greyed out is a known problem with SQL 2005 SP2. There is a beta fix for this problem available - this can be downloaded from the following location:
ftp://ftp.red-gate.com/SQLRefactorBeta/sqlrefactorsetup.exe
There will be an official release of Refactor which will include this fix shortly, however hopefully this beta will solve the problem you are experiencing in the short term. Please keep an eye out for this official release.

Yes - my free download also included SQL Refactor and SQL Doc but only had a licence key for SQL Prompt. When I contacted Red Gate they apologised for any confusion and explained that the only free product on offer was SQL Prompt.

Umm... not quite sure what you're trying to say here but if you've gone past your 14 days and like the product it's time to buy.
