    • Triggers

    • RAID 5

  • Interview question? Homework?

Which do you think has an effect on performance? Actually, what do you think each one does?

  • These questions really sound like either an interview or homework. If I answer the questions, do I get the pay or the grade?

Because they sound like interview questions.

And no, I'm not providing interview answers because if you don't know something in an interview your answer should be "I don't know." An interview is meant to gauge the level of knowledge that you have and well you're going to be able to do the job that you're interviewing for. If I provide you with good answers, you're basically cheating your way into that job. Since I've spent years interviewing people for SQL Server positions, I very much want to know that they know the answers to the questions I'm asking, not that they are cheating. If I provide the answers for you, I should be receiving your pay because you're getting the job based on my knowledge and ability, not your own.

Same thing goes for homework. We get people all the time stuck on their homework. We help. But, occasionally, we get people who just want an answer for their homework. The amount of work they've done is transcribing the question and they want a full answer, not just help getting over a tough concept or confusing aspect. For the latter, all sorts of help is available. For the former, nope.
