SQL Query Analyzer

  • I installed the SQL Server SP3 For SQL Server 2000 Enteprise Edition on my machine and later removed the SQL Server but kept the Client Tools intact. BUt when using the Query Anayzer the Visual Cue to display Strings, Procs, Reserve Words etc using Color is missing and I see the text as black. Has this feature been removed just like in Access 2002 to support Unicode or is it a problem with the installation that I have. Infact after the SP3 installtion, the Enterprise Manager also crashes with an access Violation when viewing the Stored Procedure Design Window or the Generate SQL Script dialog.

I have tried to completely remove the CLient tools but the uninstall option does not show up when running the setup. Maybe something went wrong during the uninstall.

Has anyone else come across a problem like, if so kindly provide some info. If you would like more specific info them please let me know.

  • I have not run across this issue. But QA and EM function normally on machines where Client tools are the only thing installed. Also, SP3 has not caused me any issues related to Client Tools on any machine. I suggest trying to reinstall just the client tools on top of where they are now and see if still an issue.
