Is it possible to grant a user without sa privelage to use SQL Profiler trace on SQL 2000?
If so how?

I don't think so.
btw I wouldn't advise it at a production box because profiler can generate
a huge overhead !
Actually I consider traces one way of getting in contact with the dev-teams
and with what they are producing.
And that is not always a negative event !:w00t:

It's not possible of SQL 2000. To use profiler, you must have sysadmin rights

Yes with SQL Server 2000 its not possible and need to have sysadmin rights.
