After installing SQL 05 (standard ed) Management Studio would not appear in the start menu, so I had to launch it from program files. Why did this happen and is there a change to have it appear in the start menu?

Not sure why it wouldn't appear there on its own.
To fix it, you can right-click it in Program Files, select "Create Shortcut", then drag the shortcut to your start menu.

I was able to add it to my desktop and start menu. Just not sure why it didn't appear after the initial install. Thanks.
