SQL no longer send mail with xp_sendmail

  • We had SQL Mail working until a few days ago. SQLMail profile was for same domain account as that logged onto server and SQL services running under same account. Now for no apparent reason (that is obvious) it no longer works. It had lost profile in SQLMail, so I added that back in (name is just SQL for MAPI profile) and it runs test fine from SQLMail and SQLAgentMail but we get the "xp_sendmail: failed with mail error 0x80040111" error from running a query.

    Any ideas appreciated.

  • What account is SQL Agent running under? Is it the same domain account as the SQL Server?

Have you had a look here? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315886

    or here? http://support.microsoft.com/?id=263556

Keep in mind that SQL Mail is actually different from SQL Agent Mail

Edit: Oops, went back and re-read the original post, and saw that SQL Agent Mail wasn't your problem... never mind. Those links should still be helpful.

  • Thanks AH. Actually, SQLAgentMail is working using the same MAPI profile as SQLMail. I have looked through the articles and followed the instructions, although as I said it has been working but suddenly stopped a few days ago (it's been working for about 2 years but the server crashed a couple of days ago and it's not worked since....)

    I'll keep looking.

  • did you solve your problem yet? I am having the same issue. My SQLmail had worked for years and it broke a couple of days ago. SQL agent mail and Test SQL Mail are good, but xp_sendmail gave me the same error.

  • I got about the same problem also.

Only i got the message that the sqlmail give the message

Error 18025: xp_test_mapi_profile :failed with mail error 0x80040108. Plus i configured 2 profiles in here and i dont see any of those back when i want to select them when i click em on the profile name. nothing happends. not sure if that has something to do with it. Although i have a good feeling when i reboot the server everything is ok then.
