Hello,
I am trying to configure SQL Mail on my development server. SQL Server start up is via administrator's account and administrator has a email account. It has a Exchange 2002 client running on it. I can send and recieve emails from administrator's account. When I test SQL Mail it successfully starts the mail. But when I XP_sendmail I get this error:
Server: Msg 18025, Level 16, State 1, Line 0
xp_sendmail: failed with mail error 0x80004005
Please help !!

Hi Raghu,
Your problem description fits the following MS KB article. The account which is configured to run SQL mail (SQL Server) may not have the rights "Send As" on the Active Directory. The follwoing article can help you resolve this and also applies to Exchange 2002.

Thanks for the web link
But We have NDS From Novell as our Domain controller not Active Directory. I am lost as I cannot do my work-around like it was suggested on the web-link.

Rgahu, the bottomline is you have to have the rights on your exchange server "Send As" to send SQL mail. That permissions can be set at Exchange Server, aren't they?
