In SQL EM under Support Services Folder, the SQL Mail Test works fine. In SQL EM under Management Folder, in the SQL Server Agent Properites Dialog, the Mail Profile Test works fine.
On my laptop:
When I go into SQL EM, Management Folder, SQL Server Agent, Operators and click Test Button I receive:
"Error 22022: SQLServerAgent Error: The SQLServerAgent mail seesion is not runnning. check the mail profile and/or the SQLServerAgent service startup account in the SQL ServerAgent Properties dialog."
On the SQL Server Machine:
When I go into SQL EM, Management Folder, SQL Server Agent, Operators and click Test Button I receive:
"Unable to logon on to the mail system. You should start a mail client (Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Exchange Client) to use this feature."
We have SQL Server 2000 (SP3).
