SQL Mail alternatives?

  I have 2 servers with SQL 2000 on them.  I have 3 jobs running nightly and I would like to be notified when they fail.  I have worked and worked on SQL Mail, but it's requirements will not work with our network setup.  I need an alternative option.  Here is what I require...

  1. SQL services MUST be logged in as Local System
  2. Needs to be able to use Exchange or a POP account
  3. The alternative cannot require to stay running
  4. Must work with Outlook 2002 or later (2003 is prefferable)

  One alternative that I thought of was to run a DTS to copy it to my local system, then have an ASP page run in the morning that will email me any errors that might've occured.  This is more work that I would like   Any ideas?
