I have a windows server 2003 server updated to the max. SQL server 2000 and Outlook 2007 client installed also updated. The profile is setup and I can send emails from the server. When I try to send a test message to an operator via enterprise manager i get this error:
Error 22022: SQLServerAgentError: The SQLServerAgent mail session is not running; check the mail profile and/or the SQLServerAgent service startup account in the SQLServerAgent properties dialog.
I can stop mail using xp_stopmail
I can start mail with xp_startmail
I can send an email using xp_sendmail
I can even start the mapi profile vie EM.
The only thing i can't do is send from EM which i need to do in order for notifications to work.
The profile account is the same as the SQL Server agent account. I have the same setup on a server which runs outlook 2003. Is SQL mail for SQL 2000 compatible with Outlook 2007? I don't see why it wouldn't. If its not compatible that's lame.
Please help!

We are experiencing the same issue. Has anybody found the answer to this?

In the SQL Agent properties (not mail), do you have the same profile selected that you set up for the database server?

Yes and i also removed Outlook 2007 and installed 2003. I heard that SQL 2000 doesn't like the 2007 suite. Same exact issue.
I'm going to reapply SP4 and reboot. We'll see what happens.
