I've come across a request that very well may result in me configuring SQL Mail on my SQL 2000 server this evening. I know there is lots of info out there in BOL, etc...and many of you may be tempted to say RTFM, but I need to get the skinny on this ASAP (again - might be installing tonight).
I've avoided it until now because I simply don't like the idea of having MAPI running on my SQL box. However, maybe the time has come.
Questions:
1) Is SQL Mail / MAPI on the server relatively error free?
2) Are they any major warnings someone would like to give me?
3) Is there a way to only allow the server to send mail and NOT process queries recieved via mail?
TIA
...I'm going to start reading now...

1) I haven't experienced too many problems, if any, running SQL Mail on SQL Server 2000.
2) Are your SQL Servers clustered? If not, then no warnings. If they are, you may have to use an earlier version of Outlook.
3) Not that I know of on this one.
Good luck,
Mark
