sql license

  • I believe I am correct in this assumption.

I have a windows 2008 server enterprise edition

I have sq sql server enterprise edition proc licensed

If I want to stand up a 2nd sql server instance on the windows 2008 server I can utilize my proc license for the server

  • I assume that the second SQL instance Will be on the same physical box as the first One. As long as you do not utilize more procs/cores than you have licensed, you can install multiple instances on the same box, sharing the licensed procs/cores.

  • yes it is on a physical box

  • Then feel free to install multiple instances on that box under your current licensing. As long as the installed instances not utilize more procs\cores that you have licensed. Is that an answer to your question?
