I've got a SQL Server 2000 box with service pack 3 (8.00.818).
The scheduled agent jobs stopped working on this server, we did not notice for a few days that this happened.
SQL Server agent was running, and there were no errors in the error log for both SQL Server and SQL Agent.
I restarted SQL Server agent and this fixed the problem, however I don't want this problem to occur again.
Does anyone know what could have caused this?
Could it have been the fact that we had Service Pack 3 and not Service Pack 4?
Would Service Pack 4 fix the problem?

It's too hard to say
so ALL jobs did not run at all at their scheduled times? no Job History or Job Errors?
I would just keep an eye on it for the next while, shouldn't be SP3/SP4 related

Thanks for replying Jerry.
None of the scheduled jobs on the server ran, even though SQL Agent was running. Even if I tried to manually run the jobs it didn't work.
Only after restarting SQL Agent did they start to work.
