Sql Jobs not firing failure notifications

Our admins moved the sql domain account to another mail server. We got that resolved but now we are not receiving are failure notices through sql agent (jobs). All the documents I have read has geared me to look at the exchange configurations and the services which are all correct.
The only thing I can think of is bouncing the sqlagent on the server to see if that would fix the issue.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated as I would have to stay up all night monitoring the system to make sure nothing fails. Sucks for me L

Just to let you know stopping and re-starting the sql agent fixed the problem
