Hi i have inatalled sql server 2008 developer edition in windows 2k8 o/s in our local system.
Installation is every thing is fine but when i try to connect another machine sql instance it is throwing error
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)
Q1 : is this sql 2k8 is accessible in sql 2005
Q2 :after installing it is not showing instance in the network services
i have enabled all protocols in both
Pls provide the solution to connect sql 2k8 the default instance from another machine

If you are unable to see the default instance from another machine, open up your SQL server configuration manager. Expand 'SQL Server Network Configuration' on the left. Right click on the instance you are referring to, and go to properties. Ensure that 'Hide Instance' is set to 'no'.

Also check your firewall settings.
