Hi,
I would appreciate any help with a problem installing a new SQL 2005 Standard Edition on Windows 2003 that was running SQL2000. I want to keep the existsing SQL2000 installation
During the install SQL 2005 insatll , and as part of the System Configuration Check we had 1 warnings
1) - COM Plus Catalog Requirement (Warning) Messages
COM Plus Catalog Requirement
If SQL Server Setup fails, Setup will roll back the installation but may not remove all .manifest files. The workaround is to rename the files and then rerun Setup. For more information, see How to: Work Around COM+ Check Failure in SQL Server Setup.
Found same problems on google but no solution, and I went on to install , with the following error in the log
Failed to get ModuleID_RS_Server when getting the ASP Temp directory.
Could not get the ASP temp directory.
Error: COM+ check returned

:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.
MSDTC is running under SQL2000

I believe we have found the problem in that some process or one has disabled the COM+ System Application Service. The Server guys don't want me to start this until tomorrow , just in case.
A better error message would of been nice
