Hello All,
I have been battling a rather difficult problem here and hope some experts can offer some guidance.
We are running Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.4060.00 (Intel X86) Mar 17 2011 13:20:38 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft Corporation Enterprise Edition on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 2)

The problem we are having is that periodically Procedure cache takes a sudden drop from say half Gig to below 100 meg. at that time the Full text catalog stops updating and goes into recovery.
We have done extensive research into this and can not find a reason why this would happen. we have made several leaps at this adjusting setting and such for example we have tried to change the min crawl memory but that did not seem to help. If we reboot the server everything goes bak to normal for a few days but once the buffer size reaches the Max value it starts to steal from Procedure cache and the problem starts all over.
Any thoughts at all would be greatly appreciated.
