  I am getting the below error in my prog which back hand is sql server ,it not coming regularly but once in three months even I checked the memory and its  more than enough.

  Warning.....timeout!!!could not connect to server!!

  windows socket error:No connection could be made becouse target machine

  actively refused it (10061), on API "connect"

  How are you connecting to the server? What application are you using? Can you ping the server? Can you connect via the normal SQL Client tools?

  We are connecting the server through ODBC and using a prog in dephy language for end user  to access to the server.

  Any help will be greatly appriciated.
