SQL Driver not available in ODBC Drivers Tab

    I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question but I can't seem to be able to load the SQL server driver so that it is available in the ODBC Data Sources Drivers tab. My OS is XP Home and I have a dbase that uses the SQL Server driver and I have MS Office as well. I need access to the driver so that I can link Access to the dbase tables. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Try to reinstall MDAC 2.7 sp1. You can download it from http://www.microsoft.com/data.

    I tried that and had no luck. Any other ideas? Also, I can't seem to uninstall MSDE even if I shut down the MSSQL Server.
