Hi All,
Which Certs do you recommend for someone who wants to be a good SQL developer, not only for something to put on your CV, but also for the purpose of actually learning.
Or do you think it's best to just practise and study from books and leave the certs all together?
Thanks
Chris

If you're considering exams as a verification of what you've learn more than anything, then look at the ITP (Database Developer) cert. Two exams. They are not easy

MCP is an older designation and was what you got after writing and passing any one exam. MCP = Microsoft Certified Professional
MCITP is a newer designation and is the 2nd level of certifications. First thing you will have to get is the MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist) in sQL 2005. That's one exam. After you pass that you can write two more exams and get MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) for database development or a different two exams and get the MCITP Database Administrator
