I have checked out the section in BooksOnLine
under "troubleshooting SQL Server,
Transact-SQL debugger" and followed the DCOM section
instuctions but am having problems with the debugger.
Currently I'm getting that the interface is not installed
or the interface appears but query analyzer becomes
unresponsive. I reran the client tool installation and
made sure the interface was included in the install and
then re-applied SP2 with no success. I am a dbo on the
server and am running SQL 2000 SP2.
Any ideas?

Was the debugger installed on the server during the install? Also, do you mean sysadmin as opposed to dbo rights?

The debugger is installed on the server and on my local machine. I am an administrator on my local machine and on the server. I was running the debugger in QA on my local machine. A developer on another machine is having the same problem.

In order to debug sp's the sqlserver service must be started with a user account vs the local system.
