My client in the Technology Cooridor of greater Nashville, TN desires that I find for them a Senior Software Engineer with SQL DBA focus. Must be US Citizen. The position requires 5+ years of SQL DBA Server administration plus 5+ years in IT and these included technologies: MS SQL with Stored Procedure Development, Log Shipping, Clustering, ASP.Net, C#, VB.Net Web Services/Remoting, XML and Windows 2003. Sounds like a cool opportunity. I would ask several questions in that regard. Is the position focused on ETL, Data Mining, New App development, application support, SQL Server Maintainence, backup and restore etc.
It sound like you all are looking for someone with all the skills from several perspectives. What's the primary concentration?

Keith, I think it is a cool opportunity. Here's the short form description. Primary focus is on DBA as you'll see. I have a LOT more detail.
The individual hired will perform a dual role in his/her position. The primary focus in on DBA duties, the secondary is as a software engineer. There is heavy focus on database administration and design including troubleshooting, data modeling, writing and optimizing SQL queries and stored procedure, performance tuning, and developing migration procedures. The candidate hired will exhibit a high degree of commitment to customer satisfaction, technical expertise and timeliness.
Mandatory Requirements: BS/BS in a technical field is required. Requires five (5) or more years of professional database administration experience in Microsoft SQL Server. Requires five (5)+ years of professional experience in information technology, including using five (5) or more of the following technologies; MS SQL with Stored Procedure Development, Log Shipping, Clustering, ASP.Net, C#, VB.NET, Web Services/Remoting, XML, and Windows 2003.
