Hi,
is there any sql server name or ip address that i can type into when i open sql management studio that i can use?

In short, to connect to a SQL Server, you should know either Server Name or IP address & should have sufficient permissions to connect to server.
If it doesn’t satisfy your questions, please elaborate your requirements.

i mean is there no public private 1 to connect to like for the public:-)

No, you're not going to find database servers exposed and free on the internet.
If you want to play, you can install SQL Express on your local machine, it's free, but fairly limited. It will get you started though.

If a public server means a server where anybody can login and do whatever then answer is NO.
And you don’t need any Server like it. You can install SQL Server on your local system & evaluate its features for 180 days for FREE.
