Hi Guys n Gals
This is topic is relating to Citrix and SQL but there may not be any need for DBA intervention apart from migrating the databases, but that is what I hope to find out here.
Right here is the situation.
We have a Citrix server farm of over 100+ boxes which all point to a Citrix Data Store on one of our SQL boxes.
The SQL box is a SQL2000 server (old skool I know), what we want to do is migrate the databases from the standalone SQL2000 server to our new SQL2005 cluster setup.
What I want to know is that other then backing up the databases. transferring them to the new environment, initializing them etc etc, is there anything else from a DBA perspective that I need to do?
The Windows Support team will take care of all things Windows/Citrix based i.e pointing the farm to the new environment.
Any advice / best practises / problems / fixes that you have experienced while doing this would be appreciated muchly.
Thanks
Anthony
